Giir di Mont 2025: a record-breaking edition, experienced up close
28 July 2025
The 2025 edition of the Giir di Mont came to a close with outstanding results and a palpable energy, confirming once again its place among the most awaited and spectacular events in international mountain running.
The crowd responded with great enthusiasm, bringing every part of the course to life with their usual warmth. At the same time, the live broadcasts—followed by thousands of viewers—captured the intensity of the race and the stunning alpine landscapes that make this event so unique. The live footage highlighted not only the athletic feats, but also the authenticity of the places crossed, turning every climb and every descent into a story worth telling.
In the main race (32 km, 2700 m of elevation gain), Davide Magnini delivered an impressive performance, winning in 3h14’08”, ahead of Norwegian runner Stian Angermund and Italy’s Mattia Tanara.
In the women’s race, Kenya’s Valentine Rutto made history by setting a new course record of 3h58’28”, finishing ahead of Roberta Jacquin and Martina Cumerlato.
In the Mini Giir di Mont (18 km), Kenyan runner Elija Kamau Kariuki took the win in 1h39’28”, while Francesca Rusconi came first among the women with 1h57’47”.
Once again, this year, Officine Ambrogio Melesi proudly supported the Giir di Mont as main sponsor, reinforcing a partnership born from a shared vision: investing in sport, community, and the local area.
What made this edition even more special was the presence—among the athletes at the starting line—of some familiar faces: OAM team members who took on the challenge by joining the Uphill race on Saturday, the Mini, or Sunday’s main race.
Alongside them, a large group of OAM colleagues lined the course and the finish area, cheering enthusiastically for all the athletes — with especially warm support for their colleagues.
It was a true moment of connection that reinforced our sense of belonging to the territory, our unity, and the spirit of teamwork that defines us — both inside and outside the company.
A spontaneous presence that reflects, even beyond the workplace, the passion, determination, and team spirit that define us.
The organization, supported by over 600 volunteers, proved precise and flawless, playing a key role in the success of the event.
